I first thought about taking macro pictures of everyday details when I was writing an article on Inspired. I was explaining how we often overlook little details in objects or buildings we pass every day, due to our hectic and chaotic lifestyles. Because of this, those details often go unnoticed completely, even though a lot of people would consider them interesting, fascinating or even beautiful.
With this blog I aim to show you these little details. I won't tell you what you're seeing in each image, because I would like you to think about this yourself. Does it look familiar? Does it maybe wake a memory in you, or a feeling? Maybe you even know what it is you're looking at, in that case feel free to share your idea. In some cases, it will be fairly obvious what you're looking at, however.
Further, I have decided to mainly upload black and white images. I'm hoping to bring out the details better this way, although they won't be limited to black and white. I expect that it simply won't suit some images.
About me
My name is Sarina Langer, I am 22 years old, and I live near Southampton, England, with my boyfriend. I study Photography at Southampton Solent University, and am currently on my summer break between the first and second year.
My main focus in photography is Portraiture and Fashion, which is yet another reason why doing this blog should prove a challenge for me. I have enjoyed taking macro photos since my parents gave me this lens for my 20th birthday, and am looking forward to using it for this project.
If you have any other questions regarding this blog or me, feel free to ask away.
